Shadow Monarch is the safest current best sword overall because it combines S-tier damage, AoE coverage and iframe value. It is not only a damage pick; it also helps keep uptime in dangerous boss, raid and PvP situations.
Rimuru is the best alternative when your main goal is boss melt and sustained DPS. True Manipulator is stronger when PvP control matters more than pure farming speed.
Do not chase the rarest sword before your account can farm its route repeatedly. A stable A-tier sword that lets you clear bosses, keys and dungeon routes is more valuable than a rare sword target you cannot reach yet.
The practical path is starter sword, reliable mid-game damage, then S-tier swords once your race, clan, trait and rune setup can support the route. This keeps your progression moving while you save codes, boss keys and farming resources for real upgrades.
Iframes are short invulnerability windows during a move or animation. In Sailor Piece, iframe value matters because a sword that keeps you alive can outperform a higher-paper-DPS sword in bosses, PvP and raids.
When a tier list mentions iframes, it is usually talking about safety and uptime. A sword with good iframes lets you keep attacking through dangerous moments instead of backing away, dying or losing damage windows.
Sword value changes with your race and clan. SwordBlessed makes sword mains easier to justify, Shadowborn supports Shadow and dark-style routes, and clans such as Monarch, Frostbane Clan and Devil become stronger when your weapon plan matches their role.
For boss farming, prioritize uptime and single-target damage. For PvP, prioritize control, iframes and mobility. For raids, use AoE and consistent damage instead of a narrow duel-only weapon.
Use this table before farming or rerolling for a sword. A PvP sword is not always the best boss sword, and a boss sword is not always the fastest leveling tool.
| Goal | Best swords | Why | Build note |
|---|---|---|---|
| Endgame DPS | Shadow Monarch, Rimuru, Dragon Goddess | High damage and strong uptime make these safer for hard bosses and raids. | Pair with damage clans, strong traits and runes before judging clear speed. |
| PvP control | True Manipulator, Abyssal Empress, Ice Queen, Anti Magic | Control, iframes and counterplay matter more than raw damage in player fights. | Use with PvP clans such as Espada, Frostbane Clan or Alter. |
| Boss melt | Rimuru, Sin of Pride, Voldigoat-style damage builds | Single-target damage and uptime matter most when farming repeated bosses. | Use damage runes and avoid luck swaps until clears are fast. |
| AoE farming | Shadow Monarch, Atomic, Great Mage | Wide attacks and fast clears help with dense routes and raid-style waves. | Use mobility support if travel time is the bottleneck. |
| Mid-game bridge | Ragna, Shadow, Ichigo, Aizen | Good enough to progress while saving resources for S-tier targets. | Do not overinvest if an S-tier route is close. |
These notes explain why the top swords rank highly and what kind of player should keep each one.
| Sword | Main role | Best pairing | Keep or replace |
|---|---|---|---|
| Shadow Monarch | Endgame DPS and AoE | SwordBlessed, Monarch clan, damage traits | Keep. This is one of the safest all-around endgame swords. |
| Rimuru | Boss melt and sustained DPS | Damage clans, boss farming routes, raid builds | Keep if bosses or raids are your main goal. |
| True Manipulator | PvP control | Espada, Alter, control-focused traits | Keep for PvP; less mandatory for pure farming. |
| Yamato | Versatile damage | Hybrid fruit and sword builds | Keep as a flexible S-tier option. |
| Sin of Pride | Heavy single-target burst | Boss melt and burst-window traits | Keep if your build can survive between burst windows. |
| Atomic | AoE burst | Raid waves and dense farming routes | Keep when area clear matters more than dueling. |
| Ice Queen | Slow and control | Frostbane Clan or control PvP routes | Keep if your route values freeze/control utility. |
| Anti Magic | Counter pick | Anti-mage PvP and magic-heavy matchups | Keep as a specialist weapon, not always as the main farm sword. |

The strongest swords are not judged on damage alone. Iframes — short invincibility windows during a move — let a sword survive boss hits, PvP burst and raid damage, which is why Shadow Monarch and True Manipulator stay valuable beyond pure DPS. The iframe score is built into every sword's rating in the tier list above.
